Imagine a project born from creative complicity with chance and guided by the face-to-face with the unexpected... At the origin of the present exhibition lies indeed the deliberate choice of taking risks in place of technical perfection as well as the introduction of the accident into the overall artistic vision. By allowing error and the alchemy of expiration to meddle, a simple film becomes the theater of unsuspected chromatic reactions to surprise the author who becomes both the spectator of their own creation. This “error” immediately inspired our artists to go further and place involuntary metamorphosis at the heart of their common approach. Art Base therefore invites you to discover unpublished photographs by Patrick Delcol that shake up our perception of reality, through a fascinating dialogue between the transformation of the captured image and its reinterpretation on the canvases and collages of Joanna Jankowiak. “HAZ-ART & IMPRÉVUES” is a visual testimony of a voluntary letting-go where the artist abandons absolute control and allows the spontaneity of the elements to dictate the final form of their works. It is also a beautiful story about time that disturbs the image to convert wear into a unique signature.
