Rauwe folkblues As a child, Jonathon Linaberry would sit glued to the radio in the evenings, ready to record his favourite songs on cassette. He tries to recapture that magic of anticipation and discovery on Radio Waves, his sixth album as The Bones of J.R. Jones. Together with producer Robbie Lackritz (Feist, Bahamas), he creates a sultry and hypnotic sound in which acoustic guitars collide with retro synths from the 80s and 90s. He lands between nostalgia and introspection: raw, vulnerable and steeped in memories of youth, first loves and lost illusions. Linaberry, once active in punk and hardcore bands, found inspiration in the field recordings of folklorist Alan Lomax and has been building his own universe between blues, folk and Americana since 2012. Radio Waves sounds both familiar and elusive, like a memory that remains just out of reach, floating on an endless sea of radio waves. For fans of Bon Iver, Nick Drake, Sufjan Stevens
