Can trauma live on in the walls of a house? In the latest work by Joachim Trier, sisters Nora and Agnes return to their family home in Oslo, where they are confronted with their absent father Gustav. Trier's latest film is a moving reflection on family, loss, and the difficulty of truly connecting. Wanneer Gustav asks his daughter Nora for the lead role in his comeback film and she refuses, he gives the role to a young Hollywood star. Old tensions flare up again. A family drama about memory, pain, and the question of whether you ever really get away from where you come from.
