Confession

Lasse Vonck has been declared a prodigy and acclaimed by press and public as a young artist. Thirty years later, that is no longer the case. That people have forgotten him over the years, he finds a bearable fate, but he is lost. He seeks a goal, meaning. On a spring day without luster, Lasse is so alienated from himself upon waking that he no longer knows well who he is. He cannot even speak anymore. Inspired by the timeless and matchless story De Gedaanteverwisseling van Franz Kafka, this theater piece sketches a portrait of the human as silent protest. Confessie is a new theater text by Raven Ruëll, written for and played by Bruno Vanden Broecke. Both have been making performances together for 25 years, including Missie (2007), Para (2016), and Klink (2023).
