Thirty years ago, Andries Beckers tells a small lie to be allowed to play with his favorite punk band and thereby gives his life an unexpected turn. His life journey becomes one of sleeping on strange floors, playing as if it is your last evening, and the stubborn belief that adventure is always worth more than certainty. All those adventures he has now bundled into a moving but also funny theater show that is recognizable to everyone. Andries Beckers is probably best known to the general public as host of the podcast ‘Welcome To The AA’. Together with Alex Agnew, he talks every week with scientists, athletes and everything in between, as long as they have a good story to tell. In addition, he has had a career as a guitarist with the successful metal bands Born From Pain, The Setup and Diablo Blvd. Since 2025 he hosts ‘De Zwaarste Show’ on Studio Brussel every week. On top of that, he is co-host of the podcast ‘Oep z’n bakkes’, a show about mixed martial arts, and you hear him regularly as a commentator for combat sports on Play Sports. He actually has a blue belt in Brazilian jiujitsu himself. A man who has many diverse talents, something that becomes very clear in this theater special.
