Sirât (2025)

In SIRÂT, the Spanish director Oliver Laxe takes you on a spectacular trip through the Moroccan desert. While the bass of the rousing soundtrack touches your eardrums, Laxe keeps you on the edge of your seat. A father (Sergi López) arrives with his son at a rave deep in the mountains of Southern Morocco. He is looking for his daughter who disappeared months ago during one of these parties without end. Surrounded by electronic music, father and son tirelessly hand out her photo. The search seems hopeless, but they do not give up and follow a group further into the desert. While sand and heat disturb their senses, the journey forces them to face their own limits. SIRÂT won the Jury Prijs at the Filmfestival van Cannes. In addition to the experienced actor Sergi López (PAN'S LABYRINTH, LAZZARO FELICE), Oliver Laxe mainly relies on an inexperienced cast.
