The duo Azinmehr Kieckens brings an ode to friendship, deeply rooted in classical Persian music.
Shahab Azinmehr comes from Iran, Robbe Kieckens from Belgium. Despite - or perhaps precisely thanks to - their different backgrounds, they found each other in a very natural way, both personally and musically. That self-evident, deep connection resonates in their music.
They are presenting their first duo album “Sineh be Sineh”. Sufi poetry, emotionally charged vocals, fiery improvisations, and intimate interplay, deeply rooted in tradition.
The title, literally “from chest to chest”, refers to the importance of oral transmission in Persian culture, in which knowledge and wisdom are passed on from heart to heart — from father to son, from master to student.
