Outing with the neighbors: Modernism in Laeken and interior visit of Moureau house

We are going in search of post-war modernism on the margins of the Atomium. On 3 October, Toerist Modernist will take you on a discovery of Laeken, where the legacy of Expo 58 is clearly visible. We will walk past various modernist buildings and end at a perfectly preserved home, house Moureau van Willy Van Der Meeren from 1952, where we will [explore] the interior. Tourist Modernist was founded in 2019 by Gerlin Heestermans. Her goal is to put modernist heritage in Belgium on the map, from Art Deco to Brutalism. For a small country, we are full of amazing modernist architecture that is often still under the radar. She tries to bring these buildings to attention and make them accessible.
