The idea of performing his father's repertoire had been playing in Marcel's head for a while. With multi-instrumentalists Martin Bakker (Nits, Freek de Jonge…) and Rens van der Zalm (Frank Boeijen, Youp van ’t Hek…), son Marcel is going to browse through the rich oeuvre of Boudewijn. As one of the most famous singer-songwriters in the Netherlands, Boudewijn de Groot started as a protest singer. After that, he became famous with, among others, ‘Welterusten meneer de president’ (‘Goodnight Mr. President’), ‘Het Land van Maas en Waal’, ‘Als de rook om je hoofd is verdwenen’ (‘When the smoke around your head has disappeared’), ‘Prikkebeen’, ‘Jimmy’… In ‘Marcel zingt Boudewijn’ (‘Marcel sings Boudewijn’), the audience gets a beautiful overview with stories and anecdotes from a unique career.
