Macondo Trio makes you lose all sense of time and space. Their music makes your blood boil little by little: modal and improvised jazz interwoven with African rhythms and childhood melodies. Each musician brings their own life experience and feeds the others musically and spiritually.
The adventure began when the Beninese drummer Angelo Moustapha de Belgische met saxophonist Sylvain Debaisieux. During artistic residencies in Belgium and Benin, they developed a shared rhythmic language in which improvisation and sonic exploration come together. De Italiaanse bassist Federico Stocchi completed the cosmopolitan trio with a deep, organic foundation. The new album 'Morayò' was enthusiastically received during the Propulse festival and in Flagey.
