We cycle through the beautiful landscape of the Zenne Valley and stop at places we recognize from the landscape paintings that Rubens painted during his final years, when he stayed at his country estate ‘Het Steen’ in Elewijt during the summer. Recent research shows that Rubens accurately captured the landscape of the Zenne Valley in his paintings, which allows us to look at the landscape through the eyes of Rubens. We also view the landscape of the Zenne Valley through the eyes of a nature guide, with attention to ecology, biodiversity, and water management. We will make a longer stop at ‘Het Steen’ and the castle garden. Guides: Eugeen & Kris
