In 2002, the American violinist Brad Repp and the Italian pianist/actor Aldo Gentileschi bumped into each other by chance in a coffee bar, somewhere in the neighborhood of Florence. From that meeting of two very different people from just as very different backgrounds, the Duo Baldo was born. A melting pot of musical virtuosity, comic capers, and pop culture. You do not need a degree in musicology to enjoy their shows. The only thing you must possess is a healthy dose of appetite for a swirling concert that works just as much on the laughing muscles as the emotions. Van Mozart to Debussy, from Gershwin to Paganini and John Cage: for over 20 years, these two excellent musicians have been fooling around everywhere in the world with classical music.
