In ‘BIG DEAL’, based on the award-winning ‘Glengarry Glen Ross’ by success author David Mamet, SKaGeN sketches a ruthless portrait of who we have become, a quarter of a century into the new millennium. Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Zhang Yiming rule the world. The ideology of profit-seeking is experiencing its heyday and threatens to undermine the foundations of our democracy. In ‘BIG DEAL’, salespeople make life miserable for each other in a ruthless battle for bonuses, leads and their job. They manipulate, lie and betray each other without scruples just to stay one step ahead in the hierarchy. Each character fights with a knife between their teeth – not to win, but simply to survive. ‘BIG DEAL’ unravels our addictive and often absurd behavior, driven by the all-encompassing urge for profit and success. The price for that is high. Because what if you yourself threaten to fall into the abyss? And what if you can prevent that by playing a dirty trick on someone else?
