Open Music : Concert de Steven De Bruyn / Jasper Hautekiet

Steven De Bruyn and Jasper Hautekiet are considered luminaries in the Belgian musical world, at least in the North of the country. We obviously remember Steven on the harmonica within the famous El Fish (to which he gave a completely original musical color) then probably with the Electric Kings, the biggest blues band in Belgium, if not Europe, for many years. And his noted presence with our friend Roland. In the project he concocted with his partner Jasper Hautekiet, Steven uses three harmonicas: chromatic, diatonic, or bass, as well as the kalimba (a kind of thumb piano), while adding electronic tinkering. As for Jasper Hautekiet, he is an all-terrain musician: piano, double bass, percussion… This duo creates music that is particularly original and off the beaten path: sometimes dreamy, sometimes bluesy, sometimes ambient, sometimes roots… and which delights all those who have approached it live or via the two albums to its credit.
