Winter excursion - Antwerp Left Bank

Traditionally we close the working year of our vwg with a day trip just before Christmas. This year we head towards Antwerpen Linkeroever where numerous beautiful nature areas are located right next to the port of Antwerp. A selection from the list: Doelpolder Noord, Hedwigepolder, Putten West, Drijdijck, Verrebroekse Plassen, Groot Rietveld, ... Piece by piece areas where overwintering birds can find food and rest. Almost all overwintering duck and goose species and waders can be seen that day, as well as various raptor species. With a bit of luck we will run into Kleine Zwanen, a Zeearend of Baardmannetjes. The exact day program is only put together the week before on the basis of the most recent observations and/or rarities. We conclude with a cozy bite to eat once darkness has fallen. Bring a picnic for lunch, cost-sharing transport (25 euro/passenger)
