The country is known worldwide for its samba vibes and sultry bossa nova, but behind that colorful image lies a rich accordion culture with big names like Sivuca, Dominguinhos, Oswaldinho do Acordeon, Mestrinho, Jacob do Bandolim and Hermeto Pascoal. Musicians who conquered millions of hearts and formed a tradition that is still very much alive today. Just as the tango once conquered Europe, this Brazilian accordion tradition is also slowly blowing our way. Accordeon Folie focuses on two Belgian accordionists who idiosyncratically reinterpret this exciting music and each find their own way in this repertoire: playful, virtuoso, adventurous and deeply rooted in both tradition and innovation.
