Illustration workshop: journey to the Middle Ages

This internship takes place in two stages. In the morning, our mediation team invites children to discover the museum's rooms in a playful way. Through games, creative workshops, and by visiting our temporary exhibition on comics, they learn more about the Middle Ages. And in the afternoons, accompanied by comic book artist and illustrator Émilie Pondeville, they dive into a medieval universe full of adventures and imagination. Together, they invent a collective medieval story, which they illustrate step by step to create a real bound book, entirely handmade. The internship alternates moments of creation and playful times: invention of the story and characters, illustration of different scenes (adventures, castles, creatures, heroes...), assembly and collage of illustrations in the book, creation and illustration of the cover, short times of games and reading of medieval comics to nourish the imagination. Each child participates in all stages and leaves with a unique illustrated book.
