The sum of all colors is white, like a blank page that is open to all opinions and movements. The name Revue Blanche is taken from the literary and artistic magazine of the same name (1889 – 1903) and fits seamlessly with the ensemble's philosophy. The multitude of colors that the compact instrument combination of voice, flute, viola, and harp can mix together is played out to the maximum with high-quality arrangements. Synesthesias of sound and color are essential at Claude Debussy. We are immersed in an enchanting world with a selection from his more intimate and poetic works. In de Chansons de Bilitis forms the piano part, arranged by Wim Henderickx and Jean-Michel Damase, a subtle dialogue with the sensual, suggestive poetry of Pierre Louÿs. Maurice Ravel is often mentioned in the same breath as Debussy, but they are each unique. Ravel has the inimitable gift of intertwining the sound of his era with traditional styles and unheard-of sound experiments. The result: baroque that swings, jazz that sings, and a modernist spirit that rises above impressionism, expressionism, and neoclassicism. program Claude Debussy work from Proses lyriques, Six épigraphes antiques, Chansons de Bilitis Maurice Ravel work from Chansons madécasses & Le tombeau de Couperin soprano Lore Binon / flute Caroline Peeters / viola Kris Hellemans / harp Anouk Sturtewagen / © Julie Calbert revueblanche.be
