Brought together by the unexpected inheritance of an abandoned house in Normandy, four cousins, until then strangers to each other, discover a mysterious shared past. Two centuries earlier, Adèle Munier, their ancestor and owner of the house, left her rural hometown and left for Paris, in search of the identity of her mother, in the heart of the modernization of the city and the rise of Impressionism. As her descendants follow in her footsteps, they unravel Adèle's past to shape their own future. Two intertwined periods collide, where the contemporary view of the family members is contrasted with the fascinating reality of 19th-century Paris.
