Ribot described the performance afterward as the most intense, exciting music he had heard in decades and had a request: “Let’s jam.” Met Brussel in her veins, Farida lets her bass ruthlessly root, rub, and glow. It is a dream match with Ches Smith, a key figure from the New Yorkse avant-garde scene. And then there is Ribot himself: mischievous as always, with guitar playing that can take a completely unexpected turn at any moment. Together they form a raw, lively, and unpredictable alliance in which rhythm and texture are constantly shifting.
