Serious illness, informal care, dying and grief: these are universal themes that we all have to deal with sooner or later.
However, we often feel unsure about how to react when someone in our environment is confronted with this. We want to support, but don't always know how. We also don't always know where to turn with questions about the end of life, or how we can prepare for this.
That is why there is the EIK-training. This training wants to make people more familiar with these themes and give them the confidence to think about this and to start a conversation.
Praktisch
De free training consists of four parts of about two hours each, spread over several weeks:
Part 1: Death and dying in België
Deel 2: Serious illness and vulnerability
Part 3: The reality of dying
Part 4: Informal care and grief
The training is interactive, with video testimonials, group discussions and exercises. We encourage active participation, but you are never obliged to share personal experiences.
For whom?
The EIK-training (Eindeleven: Iedereen Kundig) is for everyone. It focuses on an adult audience and is offered in Dutch.
Part 4: Informal care and grief
On October 13 we discuss how you can support informal caregivers, and what it means to be an informal caregiver yourself. Grief and loss are also discussed: how do you deal with this, and how can you support others?
