Kapellmeister - Echoes from Italy

Echoes from Italy tells three success stories through melodic adagios and fiery allegros: Heinichen and Hasse as chapel masters in the opera city of Dresden, and Handel as the most important composer in Europe. ‘The three most important H’s of German music’, they were called. For the newest styles, the most innovative violin playing, and the art of singing, you had to be in Italy. And so Handel, Heinichen, and Hasse each followed their path to cities like Rome, Naples, and Venice to immerse themselves in the Italian writing style . Although they would never quite lose their German pen ... The baroque ensemble Kapellmeister was founded in 2018 by organist-harpsichordist Denis Roosen and violinist Marieke Vos. The ensemble plays music by both well-known and lesser-known chapel masters from the high and late baroque. For this program, cellist Herlinde Verheyden strengthens the duo.
