Suzette Quartet

Suzette is the new musical project of singer Gudrun Roos, known from, among others, Café con Leche, Le temps d'une chanson, and various theater and music productions. Met Suzette she explores a warm, original sound where French chanson, swing jazz, bossa nova, and easy listening meet. The music sounds intimate, poetic, and slightly melancholic, with a subtle 1950s atmosphere and a modern, personal approach. Met Suzette Gudrun seeks refinement and authenticity: she likes to write new lyrics to existing jazz compositions and songs in other languages. That makes her repertoire recognizable and surprising, faithful to tradition but always with a contemporary twist. Suzette is accompanied by excellent jazz musicians: in a quartet with Rein De Vos (accordion & bandoneon), Jakob Haghebaert (guitar), and Ruben Lamon (double bass) and Jasper Huysentruyt (piano).
