Wonders of eclectic architecture

Sat, 22 Aug 2026 · 14:00
At the corner of rue du Bailli and rue Faider in Ixelles, Brussels
€10–15
Around the Chaussée de Charleroi, between Ixelles and Saint-Gilles, some streets possess exceptional and almost intact architectural heritage, with spectacular rows of facades that allow one to realize the richness and diversity of Brussels architecture from the end of the 19th century. The house is declined there in all its forms. Each facade is different with polychromy and sculpted decorations often extremely neat. Each house is a masterpiece in itself. It is the golden age of small heritage. This visit offers a very beautiful overview of eclectic architecture and allows one to realize the high quality of certain typically Brussels decorations and yet little known.
