Sofía Levín – voice, Philippe Zygel – piano,
Lisandro Bazzana – bandoneon, Joshua Desserre – double bass
A voice, a piano, a bandoneon, a double bass,
a tango vibrant with contemporary resonances.
Le Sofía Levín Group offers a lively, poetic, and free tango, deeply rooted in the Argentine tradition while opening up to more contemporary forms. At the heart of the program, the legacy of Astor Piazzolla dialogues with works by current composers such as Ramiro Gallo and Javier González, as well as with original compositions. Some pieces sung in French, Spanish, or Italian draw a sensitive landscape, between lyrical breath, urban poetry, and intimate memory. The voice of Sofía Levín, soft and intense, embodies a singular and feminine reading of tango, nourished by a journey between Buenos Aires, France, and the stages of Europe and Latin America. Alongside her, Philippe Zygel on piano, Lisandro Bazzana on bandoneon, and Joshua Deserre on double bass shape a rich, nuanced, and organic collective sound. Their crossed universes — tango, jazz, classical, and Argentine folk music — give birth to a vibrant and current interpretation.
The arrangements, signed by Hugo Romero, a specialist in modern tango, bring additional depth to this sensitive and daring ensemble.
Le Sofía Levín Group is a tango of the present: elegant, mixed, literary, and deeply human. A concert where tradition and creation meet in the same pulsation.
