Written and performed by Élodie Emery – Produced by Live Magazine Ce "real-life one-woman show" takes us on the steep paths of happiness at any cost! Everything begins when, as a young reporter, Élodie Emery engages in a series of articles on new personal development practices. Obviously, she intends to criticize this neo-spiritual quest that makes the fortune of gurus of all kinds. But perhaps she is also secretly looking, like everyone else, for the recipe for happiness? It is almost by chance that she uncovers a sexual and financial scandal that shakes Tibetan Buddhism to its summit. This ten-year investigation propels her onto the list of finalists for the Albert-Londres prize, leads to a documentary film and to this one-woman show, carried by her exceptional pen, her comedic talent, and her investigative work. In this stage form initiated by Live Magazine and Ferme du Buisson unfolds a pure moment of theatrical grace, funny, moving, and accessible, which questions our idea of happiness. Co-production La Ferme du Buisson and Artist Initiatives – Partenaire La Villette Élodie Emery is a journalist. For ten years, she has been working to dissect the contemporary obsession with happiness and has contributed to bringing down an authentic lama, and not just any one, the author of The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, Sogyal Rinpoched, whose hold and sexual violence on his disciples she exposed. She directed the documentary film Buddhism, the Law of Silence, a hit for the Arte channel. From age 15
