De Staat

De Staat is a fiercely inventive band that turns tight grooves into unpredictable, contagious chaos. De Staat is a particularly fickle rock band from Nijmegen that likes to flirt with funk and tribal rhythms, introspection and humor. The idiosyncrasy and the urge for innovation of the group around frontman Torre Florim knows no bounds. For example, the spectacular ‘Witch Doctor’ invariably leads to a swirling tornado mosh pit and ‘Sweatshop’ grooves like no other. De Staat has already played as the opening act for The Rolling Stones and Muse, stood on the biggest stages in the Netherlands (Lowlands, Pinkpop, AFAS Live, …) and sold out De Casino multiple times. In the autumn of 2026, the quintet will tour Europe and the UK again with a long-awaited album and an art installation with which the band looks back on almost 25 years of groundbreaking work in the art-rock world.
