Beethoven and Love, An-Sophie Lermyte

In 2027, we commemorate the 200th anniversary of the death of Ludwig van Beethoven. Met Beethoven and love bring classical singer Anne-Sophie Lermyte and pianist Lucas Heytens an intimate and compelling tribute to his musical legacy. This concert takes the audience through three time zones of Beethoven's vision of love: from longing and dream, through passion and hope, to farewell and acceptance. The program includes songs for voice and piano, interspersed with piano works solo, and thus sketches a layered and moving portrait of the composer. A poetic and lived-in performance in which Beethoven's music is central and his inner world becomes tangible in sound.
