Boomtown: Inspiration day “Equal music experience”

Music touches everyone, but a live music experience is not obvious or accessible for everyone. That is why, during the upcoming edition of Boomtown, we are organizing an inspiration day on inclusion and equal festival experience together with Oranje vzw . What can you expect? We give the floor to some organizations that inspire. There will also be a panel discussion with experts by experience where there is room for meeting and exchange. We conclude with a look towards the future ; how can we continue to innovate to make music experience more accessible? Following this, at 8:30 PM, there is a free concert by Haroun & Helena’s Heartbreak Hotel (Helena Casella and Haroon Iqbal). Beforehand, we are organizing an introduction to the artists and a touch tour , where those who wish can get to know the instruments in a tactile way. Timings of the inspiration day: 3:30 PM: Doors 4:00 PM: Sencity Festival comes to speak about their vision on festivals, in which they strive for a music experience with all senses. From vibrating luminous dance floors to deaf performers and from immersive live music to music with a taste, literally! 4:30 PM: Panel discussion with experts by experience where there is room for meeting and exchange about the barriers they often encounter and what possible solutions could be. 5:15 PM: Break 5:25 PM: Stad Gent has been working intensively for several years on the accessibility of the Gentse Feesten . We hear what steps they have taken in those years and what they have learned from them. 5:40 PM: Students from KU Leuven have been working since this year in collaboration with Club Wintercircus on innovative ways to increase equal experience. They present their projects to us. ,
