2027 - OKRA Duffel: Visit Sint-Jacobskerk Antwerp with guide
OKRA Duffel - Bezoek Sint-Jacobskerk Antwerpen with guide
Friday, February 05, 2027
The Sint-Jacobskerk is one of the five monumental churches of the inner city of Antwerp and, after the cathedral, the oldest parish church.
The church was recently solemnly reopened after a years-long restoration campaign. There were works on both the interior and the exterior. The facades were cleaned and repaired, the roof received the necessary attention, and inside too, the refined stucco, paintings, and wood carvings were meticulously restored.
The Sint-Jacobskerk is a masterpiece of Gothic and Baroque, a place of prayer, beauty, and heritage.
What can you expect?
Discover the 24 historical chapels of the church, an exceptional art collection, the tomb monument of Peter Paul Rubens (if accessible) and the baptismal font in which his last three children were baptized.
In the meantime, De Wonderbare Visvangst van Jacob Jordaens has also regained its familiar place in the church.
