Film@library: Hamnet

Hamnet, the latest film by Chloé Zhao (Nomadland, Eternals), is an adaptation of the book of the same name by Maggie O’Farrell. The title refers to the young son of William Shakespeare and his wife Agnes, who lost the child when it was barely 11 years old. Hamnet is therefore not only a historical drama but also a timeless story about grieving. Jessie Buckley plays the role of the wife of William Shakespeare. For this, she received the Oscar for best actress.
