Mo’Kalamity & The Wizards

Sat, 17 Oct 2026 · 21:00
Club Wintercircus, Ghent
€29–31
Van Kaapverdische origin, Mo’Kalamity grew up in France and lives today in Paris. Doordrongen van Caribische and Afro-American rhythms, she quickly managed to distinguish herself in the world of reggae thanks to her talent as a singer, author and composer. Together with her band The Wizards, she brings powerful roots reggae with a strong message. With her spiritual lyrics, she encourages us to become aware of our life mission and to realize ourselves with humanity. She reminds us that only love helps us move forward on this path and enables us to reveal our deepest essence. Since her debut album Warrior of Lights (2007) she already had success and with her second album Deeper Revolution she was nominated three times for the Cabo Verde Awards and her tone was set. In 2013, she founded her own label Sofia-Théa Records, on which she released, among other things, Freedom of the Soul. For her most recent album Shine, she went to New York and Jamaica, where she worked together with renowned musicians and producers Sidney Mills (Steel Pulse), Andy Bassford (Dennis Brown, Monty Alexander), Karl Wright (Monty Alexander) and Rupert McKenzie (Bushman, Eek-A-Mouse, Meta & The Cornerstones). ••••• The evening will be opened by Pirates Crew, the Ghent soundsystem crew that has guaranteed authentic reggae and dancehall selections for more than twenty years. Strictly vinyl, without laptops or shortcuts. ••••• We will close with Team DAMP, the unparalleled energy of a duo that perfectly bridges the gap between reggae and dancehall classics and the contemporary sounds that define today's dancehall scene!
