High Hi

We are going to confess our colors: since their hit ‘Daggers’, High Hi has been our favorite Belgian indie-pop candy. De Antwerpse band, consisting of Anne-Sophie Ooghe (vocals, guitar), Dieter Beerten (vocals, drums) and Koen Weverbergh (bass), knows like no other how to combine experiment and sharp pop sensitivity into pointed songs that immediately nestle in your ear. In doing so, the trio draws from their love for dreamy shoegaze and the chrome sounds of the 80s, combined with their flawless taste that they extend to their clips, artwork and outfits. Their breakthrough album ‘Firepool’ (2020) delivered no fewer than three singles with ‘Daggers’, ‘94A9’ and ‘Alligot’, and successor ‘Return To Dust’ (2022) also has an absolute banger in store with ‘All Cool All Fine’. At the end of January, High Hi released their newest album ‘Noonday Demon’, again a step forward in the career of this ambitious band. After a sold-out concert in the AB in the spring, High Hi will pass by Cactusfestival this summer. Because we know that they are going to play the stars out of the sky there again, the invitation for Cactus Club was already ready!
