MZEE
A warm narrative voice, strong (award-winning) lyrics, a sense of humor, a preference for the rougher sandpaper, very driven, always singing in his mother tongue and multi-instrumentalist. Geert has been touring solo through Flanders and the Netherlands since the 90s with various theater tours (and albums of the same name) and successful one-man stories. He worked with, among others, Bram Vermeulen, Raymond van het Groenewoud, Maarten van Roosendaal, André Manuel, Kommilfoo, and many others.
After years of stage silence - he has been touring Europe in the meantime with his fascinating automata (purely mechanical storytelling machines) - he has been back on the boards since 2026, with new song material.
In 2027, a new album will be released, with graphic work around the fresh songs. He plays the drums, electric piano, guitars, and wind instruments live himself (yes, at the same time) and is strengthened by a top musician like Stefan Wellens.
A fresh sound for such an Mzee (that is Swahili, look it up...)
