KVS & KRAPP - Copyriot

'Copyriot' follows Gloria, who always thought she was quite unique, until she suddenly meets someone who resembles her down to the details. The same name, the same body, the same ambitions. The harder she tries to be original, the more she seems to end up in a stripped-down version of her own life. Eventually, she has to face the fact that she has become exactly what she wanted to avoid: a reproduction of herself. Inspired by Charlie Kaufman and Dostoevsky’s ‘De Dubbelganger’, Krapp creates a slightly absurd and tragicomic universe full of double figures and distorted mirror images. The performance explores how we try to keep our footing in a world that increasingly feels like a series of copies. Because although individuality seems to be the highest good, we are increasingly confused with our virtual doubles. Those idealized spirits that look a lot like us and, who knows, might one day become 'more real' than we are ourselves.
