Teun and Tijn go on an adventure together with their little car Broemmm, into the wide world. Without a plan, on the way to the great unknown. Strange plants, strange little animals, strange sounds and smells… Where are they now? Are they in the jungle or in fantasy land? Time to pitch the tent. What are all those sounds? And what is that strange bird? Is she sick, searching, what does she want? The strange bird keeps following Teun and Tijn and Broemmm. Oh dear, she lays an egg! No, crazy bird, not on the hood of Broemmm! We are on a trip! Teun and Tijn want to go further, but what now with that strange bird and the egg? ‘Vreemde vogel’ is a sweet, physical performance with live music, figure theater, and lots of humor. ‘Vreemde vogel’ is about friendship and adventure, discovering new things, because strange is not scary but actually very fun and exciting. Ellen Smets Theater has been making theater productions for young children since 1997 and chooses a physical, humorous style with few words.
