Silence walk | city in deceleration

Groot Begijnhof, Leuven

A silent walk through Leuven between slowing down and wonder. We walk between the Groot Begijnhof and the Dwaaltuin, a green labyrinth in the nature-rich environment of the Arenbergpark, designed by the artist duo Gijs Van Vaerenbergh on the occasion of 600 years of KU Leuven. A walk of approximately 6 to 7 km, in which we explore silence as being present. Between bricks and trees, between water and science, a different tempo of looking arises, in which our perception allows itself to move along with the quiet cadence of our feet. What happens when you approach your environment with your whole being — and let it move along with you in silence? The city becomes landscape. The landscape becomes mirror. And along the way, our attention deepens into an awake presence in the here and now – in connection with the beauty of urban nature, as a silent counterforce to busyness, distraction, and noise. What can you expect? Walking in silence – a supported group experience in which words make way for attention Slowing down in the city – the Groot Begijnhof and Arenberg, quiet oases and green connections De Dwaaltuin as intermediate space – a place where you may wander and discover your own path while walking Soft impulses – poetry as simple invitations that deepen your perception Time to land and reflect – at the beginning and at the end a circle of stillness and meeting In short This silence walk is a journey through Leuven in which we slow down, quiet down, and wander — to experience what happens when we look differently, step by step. Practical 🧺 Included: guided #othershoes walk by walking mentor Christine Fettweis herbal tea and snack 🎒 Bring along: sturdy walking shoes appropriate clothing small backpack ♿ This walk is wheelchair accessible
