Discovered inside a glowing bamboo stalk, a little girl grows into a young woman of exceptional beauty, raised by an old bamboo cutter and his wife. From the countryside to the imperial capital, she manages to enchant everyone she meets, even without fully revealing herself, including five noble suitors.
