A musical and spectacular circus theater experience and a warm ode to falling and getting back up again. In ‘Skram’, three acrobats try to literally and figuratively keep their footing while the ground is constantly shifting. Running, tumbling, and swaying, they search for their balance, clinging to each other, an edge, or even a spectator. Surrounded by the audience and a hypnotizing bath of music, the performers move between falling, flying, and catching. ‘Skram’ is more than circus theater, it is a poetic and musical ode to resilience. A performance about daring, taking risks, failing, and getting back up. It is an invitation to watch, to feel, and to sway along, while the boundaries between control and surrender blur. For their latest creation, they work with circus performer Jakob Lohmann, actor/performer Gytha Parmentier, and musician Elisabeth De Loore. They both studied at the Maastricht Academy of Dramatic Arts. Hanne delved further at KASK and Mahlu obtained a PhD as a researcher in English literature at UGent. Within the circus, they found a language for their imagination. Met Grensgeval they bring circus together with other art forms and inject it with a dose of anarchy, poetry, and punk. Their broadly accessible performances, such as ‘Plock!’, ‘KORROL’, or ‘iRRooTTaa’, are physical, sensory, and visual. A world that the audience is in the middle of and at times even actively part of. Jakob Lohmann is a (circus)performer and has been working with Grensgeval since graduating from Codarts Circus. He collaborated on ‘Plock!’ and ‘KORROL’. He is connected as a dramaturg to the collective Profondo Rosso and teaches acrodance. In his own artistic work - which holds the middle ground between circus, theater, and dance - Jakob likes to challenge the relationship between actor and spectator. Gytha Parmentier is an actor, performer, and dancer. With ‘Wij/Zij’ (Us/Them) and ‘Show’ (BRONKS), she traveled the world and won, among other things, the Vertebra Award for Beste Actrice (Fringe Festival). She works for various companies, including hetpaleis, Ontroerend Goed, fABULEUS, Laika, playField, and KOPERGIETERY (‘Club Toulouse’). In addition, she played in TV series such as Vermist and De Ridder. Both on and off-screen, Gytha dances a lot. She is connected to Twerk collective ‘Tw*rkshop’ and dances at ‘t Schoon Vertier (cabaret). She developed herself in contemporary dance through workshops and performances at Les Ballets C de la B. Elisabeth De Loore is a pianist, composer, and theater musician. Her recent work is situated at the intersection of classical music, theater, and sound art. Since graduating from Koninklijk Conservatorium van Antwerpen, she has been active in the performing arts. Over the past few years, she has worked with, among others, Toneelgroep Maastricht, Broder, NTGent, Victoria Deluxe, and De Machienerie. For the past two seasons, she was ‘Gangmaker’ (Pacesetter) for music center de Bijloke. In 2026, she is making the soundtrack for the film ‘Ik blijf bij je’ (I'm staying with you) (Pupkin).
