Thematic Day In Memoriam Benjamin Britten: Rejoice (Britten - Pärt)

Writing for enthusiasts was always one of Britten's great passions. All his life he sought ways to reconcile his own style with the capabilities of amateur musicians. Thanks to the flourishing music culture in numerous English churches, this resulted in a great many beautiful choral works. Today, the choirs of the SLAC join forces to perform two short Te Deums and the magnificent Rejoice in the Lamb. The strings of the SLAC conservatory will also be heard: they will play, among other things, the moving elegy that Arvo Pärt wrote following Britten's death in 1976.
