Orchard Sessions: De Legende "Dwarstalige" rock since 1990, featuring Elvis Peeters and others. Twelve years after ‘Eerst de nacht, dan de dag’ (First the night, then the day), the "dwarstalige" art-rock band De Legende presents a series of new songs for the album ‘Ieder zijn geluk’ (Everyone their own happiness), which will be released this autumn. With this album, the gentlemen want to show and let people hear that their drive and sharpness are still intact. They are shamelessly inspired by the great eighties and some heroes from back then, such as The Clash, The Ramones, Suicide, and especially by themselves before they were De Legende. Elusive lyrics, earworm melodies, and exciting sounds. With songwriters and founding members Geert Corbeels and Elvis Peeters , multi-instrumentalist from the very beginning Geert Waegeman , and drummer/percussionist Geert Mariën , De Legende will present the songs from this new album along with live classics like ‘Maria wil dansen’ (Maria wants to dance), ‘Hondenlied’ (Dog song), ‘Konijn’ (Rabbit), ‘Ten Dans’, and ‘Dodenlied’ (Death song). For those who want to get both their brains and legs dancing at the same time. Alienating and sometimes absurd lyrics, lived-in performances, and sharp analyses of the fate of a friendly person in an unfriendly world. We will close the sessions in true 4AD style. Every Thursday in June, you can enjoy a free concert in the Provinciaal Domein De IJzerboomgaard in Diksmuide. The concerts always start at 8:00 PM. Bring your own chair or picnic blanket.
