Film premiere: The Power to Connect

We follow a team of Belgian and Senegalese students (KU Leuven and UCAD Dakar) through their entire journey regarding Ferme Moringa in Mbodiène, Senegal - a pedagogical agro-ecological farm that trains vulnerable families and young people in sustainable agriculture. Together, they designed and installed a solar panel system, an electrical grid, and a water pumping system there. During the preparation, the Senegalese students came to Belgium to work on the design, and afterwards the Belgian students traveled to Senegal to realize it on-site. The result is about much more than a technically challenging project. It shows the collaboration with international partners, living and working in Senegal, and the personal experiences that such a journey entails. A story of commitment, cooperation, and sustainable impact - from the preparation in Belgium to the realization in Senegal. The premiere is set up as an evening where the international solidarity sector comes together and gets the opportunity to connect with engaged students. The screening will be followed by two panel discussions: one with the students themselves about the documentary, and one with organizations and universities from the sector about the broader picture of youth in international solidarity. Afterwards, there is a reception with food, drinks, and live music, where organizations and students can meet each other. Can't make it on October 8?
