Antigone - The Hyena Lane

We found you on the side of the road. Or you searched for us and only then found us. You were lost. Lost everything. But now you are here. In de Hyenalaan. In the white villa, four creatures are ready day and night for every form of care and shelter. A meeting house. A refuge. A warm place where one feels accepted. ‘De Hyenalaan’ is a plea that makes you think about caring and being cared for. How can we organize this care as a society and as a friend, classmate, grandchild, lover, and neighbor? What can we mean to someone? What does social engagement mean? And how do we meet each other? A performance by Marlies Tack and Michaël Vandewalle, who use their experience as theater makers in the social-artistic field for the creation of ‘De Hyenalaan’. Encounters and stories about the confrontation with poverty, mental suffering, addictions, institutions, and care agencies form part of the basis. We must all worry about our youth care.
