From forgotten pearls to songs that have resonated for generations: Rutger Mathys and Elias D’hooge went into the region and collected songs straight from the heart of the audience. Together with the Elias D’hooge Trio and guest musicians like Marie-Anne Standaert, they give that music a new life with a fresh jazz sound. With roots in the region, Rutger, Elias and Marie-Anne were born and raised there, this project sounds both familiar and surprising.
