The Forgotten Island

DreamWorks Animation, the studio behind unforgettable friendships between a boy and a dragon in How to Train Your Dragon, an ogre and a donkey in Shrek and a robot and a little goose in The Wild Robot, now comes with a brilliantly emotional story about two best friends who must grow closer before they grow apart in Forgotten Island. This new, original film is written and directed by Academy Award® nominee Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado and is produced by Academy Award® nominee Mark Swift, who also collaborated on Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. Grammy- and Academy Award®-winner and superstar H.E.R. and Liza Soberano (Lisa Frankenstein, Alone/Together) voice the main roles of graduating seniors Jo and Raissa who have been best friends since elementary school, but are about to each go their own way. When they celebrate their last evening together, Jo and Raissa stumble upon a mysterious portal that transports them to the fantastic island of Nakali, which is teeming with magical and mythological creatures they know from the stories of their Filipino families. Some of these figures become their friends, others enemies. Accompanied by guard dog Raww (Dave Franco), who has the best intentions but is rather clumsy, and a small but tough group of pals, Jo and Raissa must take on the terrifying Manananggal (theater legend and Tony winner Lea Salonga), the most feared creature of the island. When it turns out that it costs Jo and Raissa the memories of their friendship to be able to come home, they must find a way to leave the island as quickly as possible, before they forget each other forever.
