Three days of celebration, top artists, and nostalgia: Vestenfestival sets Melsele in motion From August 14 to 16, the Vestenfestival will take place for the first time as a three-day event on the playground in Keizer Karelstraat. Wijkcomité De Vesten is rolling out a strong lineup and the well-known, warm neighborhood atmosphere. On Friday, August 14, the festival opens with “De Kadans Party”, with DJ Ghost as the eye-catcher. De Belgische DJ, known from Cherry Moon and Tomorrowland, sets the tone for an evening that revives the feeling of the former dance café De Kadans and makes Melsele dance again like it used to. Saturday, August 15, will be a party night with Senta, Gene Thomas, Wim Soutaer & Charles Van Domburg, and DJ Patrick De Zwart. Bon Vivant De Luxe provides the warm-up. On Sunday, August 16, there is a family day with a large flea market and performances by Rudy Jones, Thiery, Leyla, Garry Hagger, and Laura Lynn, concluded by DJ Kojo. The fact that the festival now lasts three days is no coincidence. “We feel it’s alive in the neighborhood,” says chairman Emiel Verhoeven. “Thanks to the efforts of our many volunteers, we can grow without losing our warm and accessible atmosphere.” On Saturday and Sunday, admission is completely free.
