Casco Phil - New Year on the Orient Express

Step aboard the Orient Express for a musical journey full of style, flair, and celebration. Na de Grand Tour of last year, we now take the train from stately London together with Purcell and Händel, to steam further via Paris and Vienna to the heart of the Balkans. Along the way, the dark Danse Macabre van Saint-Saëns, the sparkling Trompetconcerto van Haydn, and the notoriously virtuoso Carnaval de Venise van Arban sound. In the east, fiery folk dances from Croatia, Serbia, and Bulgaria sound. And as is fitting for a real New Year's concert, the ride ends in grand Viennese style: with the irresistible waltzes and polkas of the Strauss dynasty. A festive toast to the new year, at full speed!
