Or do you sit motionless at the end of your bed, overwhelmed by the world around you? Maybe you just lie on the carpet and listen to the soft hum of the refrigerator. ROOM is an impressive dance and circus performance in which parkour athlete Matt McCreary explores the tension between chaos and structure. In the intimate setting of an ordinary room - with a chair, table, and lamp - a world emerges that is surprisingly recognizable. Set to music by Stef Kamiel Carlens, the performance explores how we deal with being overwhelmed, with the urge for control, and with the question of who we are or should become. With movement as a language and humor as a bridge, ROOM makes universal themes like identity, emotions, and connection tangible for young people.
