Lasse Vonck has been proclaimed and acclaimed as a prodigy by press and public as a young artist. Thirty years later, that is no longer the case. That people have forgotten him over the years, he finds a bearable fate, but he is lost; he is looking for a goal, meaning. On a spring day without luster, Lasse is so alienated from himself upon waking that he no longer knows who he is. He cannot even speak anymore. ‘Confession’ is inspired by the timeless and peerless story ‘De Gedaanteverwisseling’ by Franz Kafka. It sketches a portrait of man as a silent protest. ‘Confession’ is a new theater text by Raven Ruëll, written for and performed by Bruno Vanden Broecke. Both have been making performances together for 25 years, including ‘Missie’ (2007), ‘Para’ (2016), and ‘Klink’ (2023).
