Bunker day: Weerstandsnest Waldersee, remnants of the Atlantic Wall

Ontdek Waldersee, a well-preserved resistance nest on the Atlantic Wall and protected as a monument since 2021. The complex includes gun emplacements, machine gun and observation posts, positions for anti-tank guns, bunkers and crew quarters, and tobruks (firing posts). Some structures are rare and unique along the Belgian coast. The gun casemate (type R612) is the most iconic element, with field artillery aimed at the sea.
